Water Flow. Water, Art, Science, Humanity | Trento, 10 October 2026 – 6 June 2027

At Palazzo delle Albere, water becomes art and tells the story of our planet’s future.

At Palazzo delle Albere in Trento, Water Flow. Water, Art, Science, Humanity explores one of the most precious elements essential to life through a dialogue between creativity, scientific research and artistic heritage. Produced by the Mart and MUSE, the exhibition brings together video art, photography and immersive installations to investigate the relationship between humanity and water. The exhibition features works by international artists, examples of ancient and modern art, and pieces from the Mart’s collections, weaving together a narrative that spans different eras and artistic languages.

At the heart of the project lies the collaboration between art and science, further strengthened by participation in a European programme dedicated to bringing together creativity, technology and research into eco-social challenges. In this context, Water Flow presents works by ten artists involved in the initiative, which engage in dialogue with artworks from different periods and offer fresh perspectives on an issue that is crucial to the planet’s present and future. Building on their previous joint projects, the Mart and MUSE reaffirm their commitment to creating cultural experiences that transcend disciplinary boundaries. The exhibition invites visitors to see water not merely as a natural resource, but also as a source of imagination, knowledge and collective responsibility.
