A journey through Boccaccio Boccaccino’s stylistic evolution at the Diocesan Museum of Cremona

On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the artist’s death, the Diocesan Museum of Cremona presents the first solo exhibition dedicated to Boccaccio Boccaccino Organized by the Diocesan Museum of Cremona in collaboration with the Superintendence ABAP for the provinces of Cremona, Lodi, and Mantua the exhibition offers a unique opportunity to delve into the life and work of a master who, though little known to the general public, played a significant role in the Northern Italian Renaissance.

Through significant loans from major institutions, including the Uffizi Galleries and exceptional private lenders, the exhibition traces Boccaccino’s artistic journey from his early works to his final years. The display highlights his stylistic evolution, influenced by Leonardo’s teachings in Milan and Giorgione’s in Venice, and his contribution to the Italian Renaissance between the late 15th and early 16th centuries.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to appreciate rarely seen works and hidden details of his compositions, gaining a deeper understanding of the techniques and creative processes. The exhibition offers an immersive experience, inviting audiences to explore the harmony between narrative and and form.
