It is also a source of memory, desire, power and identity. From 17 October 2026 to 29 March 2027, Chiostro del Bramante in Rome explores this fascinating universe with Food. The Taste of Art, a major exhibition celebrating thirty years of exhibitions and cultural activities at the venue. Curated by Suzanne Landau and produced by DART \u2013 Chiostro del Bramante, the exhibition brings together 190 works, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos and installations. More than 60 artists and creatives are represented, from Marina Abramovi\u0107 and David LaChapelle to Sophie Calle, Vanessa Beecroft, Yinka Shonibare and Ernesto Neto. Spanning five centuries of art history, the exhibition unfolds across six thematic sections, bringing different eras and artistic languages into dialogue. In this way, food becomes a lens through which to explore society and its transformations.   <\/p>\n<p>From still-life painting to immersive installations, the exhibition reveals how artists have transformed food into a means of expression and reflection. Works by Bartolomeo Bimbi engage in a dialogue with contemporary practices by Ori Gersht, Sam Taylor-Johnson and Mat Collishaw, while Marina Abramovi\u0107, Sophie Calle and Sigalit Landau explore the relationship between food and the body. In addition, installations such as Sweet Memories by Simone Post and Pasta Shell Grotto by Bompas &#038; Parr invite visitors to physically enter the artworks, turning the exhibition into a sensory experience. Social and environmental issues also take centre stage. Yinka Shonibare examines the connections between food production, colonialism and climate change, while Superflex reflects on consumer culture and the environmental crisis.
